Volkswagen India inaugurates its first performance centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu

Mumbai: Volkswagen India has inaugurated the country’s first Performance Centre in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, catering to an enhanced retail experience for customers interested in purchasing the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line. The new Performance Centre inaugurated at Mount Road, Chennai is the first amongst multiple new touchpoints that will be launched across India. The brand also inaugurated Volkswagen Chennai as its second Performance Centre in the state.
With these two new inaugurations the brand’s network strength in Tamil Nadu now stands at 27 sales and 19 service touchpoints. This also marks the beginning of the brand’s strategic focus for an enhanced retail experience across markets in India.
With the recent introduction of the globally acclaimed Tiguan R-Line and the iconic Golf GTI, Volkswagen has delivered on its vision of ‘Progressive Performance’ by offering Indian customers an opportunity to own these world-class cars.
Mr. Nitin Kohli, Brand Director, Volkswagen India, said, “The recent launch of global icons like the Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI, are now serving to the elevated Indian customer aspirations. In sync with the strategy of premium and progressive performance, we aim to enhance our retail experience through these Performance Centres. The new touchpoints will help us engage with customers and prospects, delivering a more progressive and premium purchase experience.”
Commenting on the inauguration of the new Performance Centre, Mr. Arun Uppuswamy, Managing Director, Volkswagen Mount Road, said, “We are delighted to partner with Volkswagen India and launch the country’s first Performance Centre. With the new Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line on display, we are delighted to welcome customers for an enhanced retail experience from Volkswagen, highlighting the brand’s latest premium, progressive, performance mobility offerings in an exquisite new ambience at our Mount Road showroom.”
The new Performance Centres have been designed and developed to offer customers a heightened retail experience focused on sight, sound, smell, touch and taste. These Performance Centres will cater to a discerning set of customers for the recently launched carlines – Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI, delivering premium aesthetics and exclusive experiences. Volkswagen has also ensured that the manpower at these new facilities are well equipped to understand the technical capabilities and lineage of these iconic carlines.
