Peter’s experience at the Tesla Service Center, where his Cybertruck’s driver’s door was vibrating at high speeds, was anything but ordinary. What unfolded next was truly bizarre.
Peter Truong, on the Tesla Cybertruck Owner’s Facebook page, says, “I took my Tesla Cybertruck into the service center to have a light bar installed and a driver’s side door vibration at high speed checked out. Tesla replaced the door, but now they claim the technician scratched the truck’s window tint during the installation of the new door. However, I do not have tinted windows.”
Peter is left scratching his head at the miscommunication with the Tesla Service Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. As the original owner of the Cybertruck, he knows it did not come with tinted windows. Now he is confused by Tesla’s explanation.
First, the door vibration issue
Peter says, “The door vibration happens at speeds above 80 mph, and it’s annoying enough that I can’t rest my arm or even lean my knee against the door. The side mirror also shakes, and I can’t see, so it’s a safety issue.”

Despite Peter’s repeated attempts to understand the issue, the Tesla Service Center’s response to his door vibration problem remained unclear and ambiguous.
He says, “The Tesla Service Center said they will fix the door vibration by replacing the door. I asked them what exactly the problem was, but they didn’t give me a clear explanation. This is the second time I’ve brought up this issue.”

The communication between Peter and Tesla took a strange turn, highlighting a significant disconnect in their understanding of the situation.
After Peter takes his Cybertruck in for the light bar installation and severe door vibration, the Tesla communication takes a turn towards the bizarre, leaving Peter bewildered.
Jessie at Tesla Service: “I wanted to provide you with a quick update on your Cybertruck. It’s currently in the final stages of service and nearly complete.”

“During the replacement of the door, our technician unfortunately scratched the tint on the driver’s side window. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and any inconvenience it may cause.”
“To make things right, we will reimburse you for the cost of replacing the tint. Once you’ve picked up your vehicle, please have the tint reapplied at your convenience and email us a copy of the invoice. We will promptly process the reimbursement for you.”
“Thank you for understanding, and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.”
Peter: “The window is not tinted. It sounds like the glass is scratched.”
Jessie: “Hello, your front driver door glass has an aftermarket window tint installed. We will reimburse you once you have the window re-tinted to rectify the issue. Thank you.”
Peter: “It’s very strange. I did not have the windows tinted, and I am the original owner. Unless, when I purchased it from Tesla, and they installed the tint at the factory, which I doubt.”
Now, Peter is wondering if Tesla even has the right truck.
He emails Tesla back. “Are there any pictures you can send me? Are you sure you have the right truck?”

Tesla: “Thank you for reaching out. We are currently closed, but will respond to your inquiry during our operating hours. We appreciate your patience and look forward to assisting you soon.”
Peter concludes, “At least I’m getting a new door. Now, I’m wondering, do they even have the right truck? This is bizarre and might get interesting.”

Have Other Owners Experienced Problems with the West Palm Beach Service Center?
Peter is not the only customer with issues. Many Tesla owners have reported negative experiences with the Tesla service center in West Palm Beach. Specifically, some owners have reported issues with customer service, long wait times, inaccurate diagnoses, and even instances of vehicle damage.
Here’s a summary of common complaints:

  • Poor Customer Service: Many West Palm Beach Tesla owners have reported impersonal customer service, with long wait times and a feeling that the service center is not prioritizing their needs.
  • Inaccurate Diagnoses and Delayed Repairs: Some owners have reported situations where the service center has misdiagnosed issues, resulting in extended repair times and unnecessary costs.
  • Unprofessional Behavior: A few owners have mentioned instances of staff lying, being dishonest, and even refusing to acknowledge damage caused by their technicians.
  • High Prices: Some owners have reported feeling pressured into expensive repairs and have found the pricing to be unreasonable.

Examples from online discussions:

  1. One Reddit user reported a situation in which the assistant manager refused to release video footage of a technician damaging their car, claiming the damage was pre-existing.
  2. On a Yelp review, someone described a situation where the service center failed to diagnose a rear inverter issue, resulting in the car being in the shop for over three weeks and experiencing multiple incorrect parts.
  3. Another Reddit user stated that Tesla technicians told them they had never heard of common rattles and squeaks in Model 3s despite these issues being well-documented online.

Conclusion:
It’s important to note that these are just a few examples of reported issues. While not all Tesla owners experience problems, there are enough negative experiences, such as Peter’s Cybertruck issue, to suggest that the Tesla West Palm Beach service center may be struggling with quality control and customer service.
