Ever since Tesla began delivering the Cybertruck, there’s been a recurring joke that Cybertruck owners are not the best at parking their vehicles.
Now, some Cybertruck owners are acknowledging this and even blaming Tesla for their parking mishaps.
The first person to raise this issue is Bee Lee, a Cybertruck owner from Texas.
Bee says that ever since he bought his truck, he hasn’t been able to park properly and claims that the parking assist visualization on the Cybertruck’s center screen is to blame.
Bee shared his thoughts on the Tesla Cybertruck Owners group on Facebook.
He writes…
“Since buying my Cybertruck, I haven’t driven straight into or backed straight into any parking spot. The parking assist lines completely throw me off every time; it’s as if they are slightly off-center.”
Below his post, Bee shared several pictures of his Cybertruck. The first three show the truck parked in a lot, but completely outside the lines.
His truck is positioned diagonally, with the wheels over the lines and the bed encroaching into another parking space behind.
Along with the parking photos, Bee included the park assist view from his truck’s center screen, which shows the truck perfectly centered within the lines even when it is parked incorrectly.
This is surprising; however, looking at the comments, it appears that this isn’t an isolated issue with Bee’s Cybertruck, as several owners have reported experiencing similar problems.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, George Lett, says that for a long time, he believed the issue wasn’t with the truck, but rather that he was just bad at parking.
George writes…
“I thought the issue was with me.”
Another owner, Crissi Hanley, writes…
“I knew it wasn’t just me being bad at parking.”
A third Cybertruck owner, Robert Carlone Sr., writes…
“My Cybertruck overreacts to everything.”

A fourth Cybertruck owner, Cobbs Will, agrees, saying…
“Mine does too. Drives me absolutely insane. Like the cameras are skewed or crooked.”
A lot of Cybertruck owners appear to have difficulty parking their trucks correctly.
Most blame the cameras and the crooked parking assist visualization for the problem; however, a fellow Cybertruck owner, Scott Bradford, thinks the truck’s rear wheel steering might be the culprit.
Scott writes…
“I found the rear steering awkward at first, but now that I’ve gotten used to it, I find it hard to drive without rear steering.”
Rear wheel steering and crooked parking assist visualizations are relatively reasonable explanations for parking mishaps; however, a fellow Cybertruck owner, Leland Massaro, disagrees, saying his problem is that his entire truck is skewed.
Leonardo explains that the left and right sides of his truck have different lengths, which makes it look like it’s parked diagonally when it’s not.
Leland writes…
“My tailgate is wider on one side, and so is the bed cover. I have panel gaps that are wider on the right side than on the left.
I believe my truck’s frame is skewed by about a quarter to half an inch, causing everything else to be misaligned as a result.
For example, the right side of the truck is approximately half an inch forward of the left, so from the rear, the left side protrudes half an inch more. Hopefully, that makes sense.
If mine is like that, others might be way more or less.”
That’s an interesting reason why a Cybertruck might not appear centered in a parking space. However, please let me know what you think in the comments.
