A Tesla Cybertruck owner says her husband was recently trapped inside their Cybertruck in the middle of the day.
She explains her husband fell asleep while riding in the Cybertruck, and she left him there to rest when they got home.
She ran off to run some errands and walk the dogs, but when she came back two hours later, she found her husband frantically pounding on the window, desperately hoping someone would come to his rescue.
The frightened Cybertruck owner shared her story on the Tesla Cybertruck Owners group on Facebook.
She writes…
“I posted about this concern a few days ago, and nobody believed what I said. This is 100% the truth. My husband was locked inside my Cybertruck for 2 hours.
We got home, and I left him sleeping in the car. We were exhausted, and I figured I’d let him wake up on his own while I went for a walk with the dogs, etc.
It was broad daylight, but I didn’t think anything of it… Two hours later, I found him in the Cybertruck, pounding on the glass, trying to get out.
The manual door lock didn’t work. There was no way he could open the door from the inside. I don’t know why this happened, but it scared us a lot.
A normal car has doors that can be opened from the inside, but this was almost like child safety locks in the front seat.
None of the doors would open for him. It could have been tragic.
This is definitely frightening; however, the Cybertruck owner says that despite everything, she still loves her Cybertruck more than anything but wishes Tesla would address this safety issue.
She continues to write…
“I love my Cybertruck more than anything, but I want to point out that these doors are a bigger issue than we realize. I wish I knew how to report this to Tesla because it’s very concerning.”
This is definitely alarming; however, looking at the comments, fellow Cybertruck owners wondered if maybe the reason the husband wasn’t able to open the doors was because he didn’t know the manual opening mechanism.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Jenna Renee Betti, asks..
“Maybe your husband didn’t know about the manual door lock and felt stupid if you asked him. ‘It didn’t work’ is a common excuse lots of men use when they are caught being forgetful.”

This is definitely an interesting take; however, in response, the Cybertruck owner says her husband is well aware of the manual release, and he tried to open the doors manually using every door, but he couldn’t.
She continues to write…
“No, of course, my husband knows about that manual door opener. He was freaked out because it didn’t work.
He pulled on every door, and none of them opened. I think it’s because they are electric, and the car’s electrical system might have been off. I don’t know how it happened, but it was very scary and dangerous.
This is definitely concerning; however, this Cybertruck owner is not the only one to raise this issue.
In fact, she shared her story in response to another Cybertruck owner, Salvador Reynoso, who similarly expressed his concern about the Cybertruck.
Salvador writes…
“I’m starting to worry that we might crash and can’t escape because the doors are crushed and won’t open.
How do we break the windows? Have they made a tool for our Cybertruck’s THICK LAMINATED WINDOWS that other cars don’t have?
Does anyone know of a special tool?”
Salvador here is pointing to the Cybertruck’s shatter-resistant glass that Tesla calls liquid metal, and Salvador is not the only Cybertruck owner worried about this component.
A fellow Cybertruck owner, Dmitrij Ponkin, writes…
“I raised that question over a year ago because if a Cybertruck ends up in water, you have no chance to escape from a submerged truck.
People don’t seem to take that risk seriously — they just reply with things like ‘then don’t drive your Cybertruck into water’.
So if you find something that 100% works to break the glass, share it with the community. And it has to be tested, which only Tesla can do.”
