Zeekr, a brand under the vast Geely umbrella, makes some of China’s most striking vehicles, like the streamlined 007 GT wagon and the ostentatious 009 minivan. At the Shanghai show, Zeekr unveiled its latest model, the 9X full-size SUV. The 9X borrows design cues from the 009, with an upright front end and a glitzy rectangular chrome grille. The large-and-in-charge SUV is a plug-in hybrid, and while Zeekr didn’t reveal a ton of details about the powertrain, the 9X has a claimed 236 miles of electric range and the ability to charge from 20 to 80 percent in nine minutes. Zeekr says the 9X will accelerate to 62 mph in 3.0 seconds, while an air suspension should result in a plush ride.
