- The Tri-Motor model produces 850 horsepower and 1103 pound-feet of torque and zips to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds.
Rivian has been selling its electric all-terrain SUV and truck in the United States since the 2022 model year. But while the California-based automaker has a ways to go before it can shake off the “startup” label, it continues to get more established each year. Rivian has now announced that it’s opening a second retail space in the Miami area, and to celebrate, the automaker created a custom R1S SUV with a snazzy paint scheme inspired by Florida’s cultural hub. The unique SUV uses the R1S Tri-Motor as its base, with three electric motors providing all-wheel drive, 850 horsepower, and 1103 pound-feet of torque. In Car and Driver testing, the R1S Tri-Motor blasted to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds and to 100 mph in a mere 7.2 seconds. With a 140-kWh battery pack, the R1S Tri-Motor netted 250 miles of range on our 75-mph highway range test, versus a 371-mile range estimate from the EPA.Rivian➡️ Skip the lot. The body of the R1S is painted white and accented by a blue bumper with pink tow hooks, while blue stripes stream down the doors. The wheels have an old-school disc design, with a white section bordered by pink venting and a blue outer rim. The Rivian badge on the front doors also has pink edges. The bespoke R1S will live in the new retail space at Mary Brickell Village, a shopping center in the Brickell neighborhood near downtown Miami. The new location measures 4000 square feet, giving curious shoppers a chance to experience Rivian’s vehicles up close. More Fun Rivian Designs
