- Tim Kuniskis has big plans for Ram now that he’s back at the helm, starting with the first of many scheduled announcements coming on June 8.
- A LinkedIn post from Kuniskis states that Ram is planning for 25 product announcements over the next 18 months.
- There are no clues within the post for what those announcements will hold, but we’re confident we’ll get new info on Ram’s mid-size truck and the Hemi’s return.
Tim Kuniskis gave it roughly one week after Carlos Tavares resigned as the CEO of Stellantis before he made his triumphant return to Ram. His return has been surrounded by abundant rumors concerning the revival of the Hemi, along with confirmation from Ram that it will re-enter the mid-size-truck market in 2027. Now that Kuniskis is back at the helm, prepare for a flurry of activity from the automaker. According to Kuniskis himself, the fruits of Ram’s labor will start to become public knowledge starting in early June. A LinkedIn post from Kuniskis explains that he returned to the brand with a clear goal in mind: “Build exciting trucks.” His post lays out a plan for a total of 25 product announcements over the next 18 months. While some of them could be specific product launches—we’re looking at you, Ram mid-size pickup—the majority of the products suggested by the announcement are more likely to be special editions or appearance packages for existing models. Marc Urbano|Car and DriverRam previously confirmed that it will begin production of the as-yet-unnamed mid-size truck in 2027. Given that we have almost no details on that truck, we expect several of those 25 announcements to focus on the mid-sizer. We also expect Ram to shine a spotlight on the reintroduction of the Hemi lineup of V-8s, which is set to restart production this August. Speaking of the Hemi, there was also a report last month that, with Stellantis bringing back the V-8, we could also see a return of the 1500 TRX come 2026—it could even turn up the wick with the Hellcat Redeye’s 797-hp powertrain. Other possible announcements could include the introduction of a diesel engine for the Power Wagon and, of course, the Ramcharger plug-in hybrid and Ram 1500 REV EV, both of which are in the pipeline for production now. The first announcement is scheduled for June 8, with the remaining 24 set to be scattered over the next 18 months. Car and Driver reached out to Ram to ask for clarification on what the announcements would include and will update this story if we get any more details.More on Ram AnnouncementsJack Fitzgerald’s love for cars stems from his as yet unshakable addiction to Formula 1.
