Earlier, 6 airbags were only present on the higher variants, but now even the base trim gets them. As expected, the prices have received a hike. After this update, only the Fronx, S-Presso and Ignis are left to receive 6 airbags. The manufacturer has already confirmed that before the year ends, all cars will be equipped with 6 airbags. Other safety features that the XL6 is equipped with are Electronic Stability Control, seatbelt reminders and brake assist. The top-end variant also comes with a tyre pressure monitoring system and a 360-degree camera. What are the specifications of the Maruti Suzuki XL6?Maruti Suzuki has not made any changes to the specifications of the XL6. It continues to come with a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine that is rated for 103 hp of max power and a peak torque output of 137 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. There is also a CNG powertrain, which only gets the manual gearbox. It is available only with the Zeta variant, which is the base one. While running on CNG, the power output is decreased to 88 hp, and torque falls to 121 Nm. With the 6 airbags, came a price hike. The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is now priced between ₹8.96 lakh and ₹13.25 lakh, whereas the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is priced between ₹6.70 lakh and ₹9.92 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. Before this, Maruti Suzuki updated Alto K10, Celerio, Eeco, and WagonR with six airbags, while its more premium range, comprising the Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Grand Vitara, Jimny, and Invicto, all get the safety feature. The implementation of six airbags in passenger vehicles aligns with the directive issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) effective from October 2025. The majority of original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have modified their products to include this enhanced safety feature in order to adhere to the regulations.
