With Monterey Car Week right around the corner, Infiniti plans on using the prestigious automotive gathering to show off a new QX65 Monograph concept and new Track Spec and Terrain Spec variants of the full-size QX80 SUV. The QX65 will be a new coupe-like mid-size crossover in Infiniti’s lineup, and we expect the production version to closely resemble the upcoming concept. Preview of the QX65 Crossover CoupeInfiniti first hinted at the QX65 in a vague teaser shot released ahead of the Tokyo auto show way back in 2023. Many of the QX65’s finer details were obscured in the initial photo, but it was clear to see that it featured a sloping roofline similar to the silhouette of other coupe-like mid-size SUVs such as the Audi Q8 and the Genesis GV80 Coupe. INFINITIThis new image shows a small portion of the concept’s front fascia, but the QX65 Monograph concept’s upcoming reveal should give us a better preview of what the production version of the new model will look like. When Infiniti unveiled the QX Monograph concept at the event in 2023, the production version of the redesigned QX80 SUV was nearly indistinguishable from the model shown at the Quail. We think the same will be the case for the QX65.We don’t know what will be under the QX65’s sheetmetal yet, but we expect it to be mechanically similar to the more traditionally shaped QX60 mid-size SUV. The QX65 will probably be built on that model’s underlying chassis and crib its 268-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Infiniti might release more information about the production version of the QX65 following the reveal of the concept; we think it could arrive as soon as the 2027 model year in the U.S.Two New QX80 Variants: One for the Track and One for the TrailAlong with the QX65 Monograph concept, Infiniti plans on showcasing two new specialized QX80 Track Spec and Terrain Spec variants. The QX80 Track Spec will likely have a lot in common with the Nissan Armada NISMO, which features performance-focused upgrades and sporty design elements. The Armada NISMO uses the same 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 found in the QX80, boosted to 460 horsepower through engine reprogramming and revised valve clearances. In addition to the power bump, the QX80 Track Spec could also benefit from the NISMO’s retuned steering and air suspension. A small chin spoiler is visible in the teaser photo and hints that the QX80 Track Spec will feature racier bodywork than the standard QX80. INFINITIInfiniti QX80 Terrain Spec, coming soon. As its name suggests, the QX80 Terrain Spec is geared toward off-road enthusiasts and will probably take after the Nissan Armada Pro-4X. All-wheel drive, all-terrain tires, an electronic locking rear differential, a height-adjustable air suspension, and underbody skid plates are all likely to be features on the Terrain Spec. Its dark preview photo also shows a few rugged accessories, including a roof-mounted horizontal light bar, a storage box, and a metallic skid plate.
