Ford
- Ford Performance is rebranding as Ford Racing, the automaker announced today.
- As Ford competes in various series around the world, the high-performance division brings together the separate teams under one umbrella.
- The move aligns with Ford’s recent moves in the racing world, including expanding its partnership with Red Bull Formula 1 and committing to a return to Le Mans.
Ford Performance, the high-performance division of Ford, will rebrand as Ford Racing, the automaker confirmed. The move takes place immediately. Ford also introduced a new logo to pair with the updated naming scheme. The first images Ford released to Car and Driver show the usual Ford-branded Blue Oval logo positioned above a bold font that reads simply “Racing.” FordExpect the new logo to start making appearances on Ford race cars in short order. The logo should also make its way onto Ford-branded race cars, like the Red Bull RB21 Formula 1 car. Officially, the rebrand is a way to re-emphasize Ford’s racing heritage. According to Will Ford, the general manager of Ford Racing, the name change will remind people, both at Ford and outside the company, why the automaker goes racing. With Ford’s crosstown rival General Motors increasing its presence in global motorsports in recent years, the rebrand appears, at least unofficially, to fit in with Ford’s own global racing ambitions. ➡️ Skip the lot. Doubling down on the move, Will Ford signed off the announcement by declaring, “We are going in with the same goal we always have at Ford . . . to win them all. After all, we are America’s race team!”More on Ford Racing
