Jay Presto, a Cybertruck owner from Rhode Island, says he was recently trying to demonstrate how impressive Tesla’s full self-driving feature is on his Cybertruck.
Jay took his friend for a drive around the block, and everything went smoothly. However, as they were pulling into the driveway at his workplace, Jay’s Cybertruck ended up crashing right into a coworker’s Toyota Camry.
Following the accident, the frustrated Cybertruck owner questioned how Tesla plans to launch unsupervised full self-driving service in just a few days when the vehicle still makes these kinds of major errors.
The dissatisfied Cybertruck owner shared his story on X.
He writes…
“Cybertruck FSD crashes into coworker’s car. Not a good look, I was showing a friend how awesome FSD is. We drove up the street and back, and this is how it pulled into a parking spot.
I’ve logged thousands upon thousands of FSD miles, and this has never happened.”
Below his post, Jay shared a video from an external security camera showing the parking lot. As you can see, the Cybertruck, while trying to pull into a parking space, ends up crashing head-on into a stationary blue Toyota Corolla.

After the accident, Jay posted multiple images of his Cybertruck highlighting the damage. The front trunk, plastic bumper, and fender flare are all visibly scratched.
Although this is bad, Jay notes that the Toyota Corolla took the brunt of the damage, resulting in over $3,000 in repair costs. This prompted Jay to wonder if Tesla is truly prepared to introduce an unsupervised robotaxi service in the coming days.
Jay writes…
“About $3,000 damage to the Corolla! How can we be close to unsupervised FSD? This was a crazy movie performed.”
This accident is concerning on its own. However, after the incident, Jay mentioned that he had taken FSD for a ride on the same route, and the vehicle’s software makes these mistakes repeatedly.
Jay says that before the latest update, FSD would stop in the middle of the street after completing a trip, leaving it up to the driver to park the vehicle.
However, now, he says he’s noticed his Cybertruck attempts to find a parking spot and pull in after finishing a trip.
While in theory this is a major upgrade, the problem is that the vehicle cannot park properly. In his latest attempt to recreate the issue, Jay says his Cybertruck ended up pulling into a handicap spot.
Jay continues to write…
“Follow up: just recreated and it sure pulls forward, nose into a spot, horribly… You can see in the last frames the angle that it parked… and it’s a handicapped spot.”
“Nighttime re-creation of silly parking. Each time I recreate it, it behaves slightly differently, but each time, it pulls into a space, sort of… I still have no idea why it’s doing this; it always used to just pull up and stop in the street, not attempt to pull in.”
These are all negative reviews of FSD. However, Jay wants to make it clear that the crash is not Tesla’s fault, but rather his own for letting it happen.
Jay writes…
“At no point am I trying to say the crash isn’t a driver error, I’m well aware that the software is still in development, that is why I’m sharing this.”
Jay also emphasizes that he is not looking to criticize Tesla and that he loves the EV maker and his Cybertruck.
He continues to write…
“I’m not attempting to trash-talk. I love Tesla and my Cybertruck. Just sharing a super disappointing problem that happened. There are bugs that NEED to be addressed.”
Looking at the comments, surprisingly, the overwhelming sentiment is that Tesla’s full self-driving software is not good.
Given that X is owned by Tesla CEO Elon Musk, the platform is usually overwhelmingly pro-Tesla. However, the sentiment regarding Tesla’s full self-driving capability seems to be shifting on X.
