- A new batch of spy photos indicates that the next-generation Chevy Bolt EV is receiving a substantial screen overhaul for the cabin.
- The interior remains mostly under wraps, but larger sizes for the digital gauge cluster and center infotainment system are clearly visible.
- Chevy hasn’t confirmed exactly when the new Bolt will reach customers, but it did confirm that the new generation will enter production by the end of this year.
The Chevrolet Bolt EV’s gestation period between generations is nearly at an end, and we’ve just got our first peek at the new version’s interior. Our most recent crop of spy photos shows that Chevy gave the Bolt’s interior a considerable overhaul, led chiefly by changes to the dashboard setup.KGP Photography When the last Chevy Bolt went out of production in 2023, it was equipped with an 8.0-inch digital gauge cluster shrouded in a bulky housing. The infotainment system was managed with a 10.2-inch center touchscreen. While still hidden behind a mesh covering, both units look to be larger than before. The gauge cluster appears to have a larger, rectangular format that’s similar to the screen found on Chevy’s Equinox EV. The infotainment screen seems to maintain its original format, but from what we can see, the screen itself stretches deeper into the bezels, increasing its acreage. KGP PhotographyIt’s not just the screens. The whole dashboard has a new look. There’s a new gear-selector stalk mounted behind the steering wheel that replaces the old button-style selector on the last Bolt. The change appears to free up a lot of space between the front seats, with the area now containing a cupholder-armrest combo. The HVAC controls are all new too. They still appear as a row of buttons and dials below the center screen, but Chevy looks to have snagged them from the GMC Canyon’s parts bin. ➡️ Skip the lot. Chevy said more details will come this fall, and hopefully that will include the new version’s price breakdown. More on the 2027 Chevy Bolt
