- The 2026 Toyota Camry lineup now features a Nightshade edition that brings a sportier appearance.
- The Camry Nightshade wears black 19-inch wheels and black trim on the grille, rear diffuser trim, and rear spoiler.
- Pricing hasn’t yet been announced, but the 2026 Camry Nightshade will slot in above the SE trim and should cost around $1000 more.
The Toyota Camry underwent a notable metamorphosis as it entered its ninth generation for the 2025 model year. The crisp front-end styling and optional 12.3-inch touchscreen were welcome changes, but the standard hybrid powertrain is a true game-changer, especially since its $29,835 base price undercuts hybrid rivals by a few thousand dollars. After such a significant overhaul, the Camry will enter the 2026 model year with minimal changes, but Toyota has announced a new Camry Nightshade edition for 2026.ToyotaThe Nightshade trim has proliferated throughout Toyota’s lineup over the past several years—models from the low-slung Prius hybrid to the large, boxy Grand Highlander Hybrid SUV—feature a Nightshade model. Toyota follows a standardized template for these models, with the changes centered around unique wheels and darkened exterior trim. For the 2026 Toyota Camry Nightshade, the sedan rides on black 19-inch five-spoke wheels with a distinct design. The exterior is decorated with Midnight Black Metallic trim, including the front grille, front bumper vents, door handles, and side mirrors. The same look is also applied to the shark fin antenna atop the roof, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler, giving the Nightshade a sportier and more eye-catching appearance than a standard Camry. The badges are also finished in gloss black. ToyotaThe Camry Nightshade edition will be offered in three colors: a white hue called Ice Cap, the Supersonic Red seen here, and Midnight Black Metallic if you want to go for the completely blacked-out look. Outside of the Nightshade edition, the only other new content for the 2026 Camry is a fresh color, an understated blue called Dark Cosmos, which is available on the SE, XLE, and XSE trims. The Nightshade edition will be sold alongside the existing four trims: the LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. Like all other Camrys, the Nightshade is powered by a hybrid system consisting of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with electric motors. The Camry hybrid offers front-wheel drive with two electric motors that combine for 225 horsepower or all-wheel drive, which bumps output to 232 hp by adding a third e-motor. The hybrid powertrain returns an EPA-estimated 53 mpg city and 50 mpg highway for FWD models, and an AWD model matched its EPA estimate by recording 43 mpg on our 75-mph highway fuel-economy test.ToyotaThe 2026 Camry adds a new color, Dark Cosmos.Toyota has yet to announce pricing for the 2026 Camry, including the Nightshade edition, but we don’t expect prices to rise too much from the 2025 model’s $29,835 base price. The Nightshade will slot between the SE and XLE and be based on the SE’s equipment package. Looking at Toyota’s other Nightshade models, we expect the Camry variant to cost about $1000 more than the SE. The 2026 Toyota Camry will reach dealerships this summer.More on the Camry HybridCaleb Miller began blogging about cars at 13 years old, and he realized his dream of writing for a car magazine after graduating from Carnegie Mellon University and joining the Car and Driver team.
