Overview Like Ford’s other Raptors, this 2026 Bronco is overkill for all but the most serious off-roaders and dune-runners, but we can’t blame anyone for wanting it. With its knobby 37-inch all-terrain tires, massive fender flares, widened tracks, Fox dampers, and aggressive skid plates, it would be a good starting point for a post-apocalypse machine—assuming you can track down enough gas to keep it running. Its 418-hp Etwin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 chugs the stuff. The monetary cost for all this gear is dear, but the behavioral cost is not. The Bronco Raptor is an agreeable companion for errands about town and for long highway slogs. Plus, with its top and four doors removed, it offers the open-air freedom that so many drivers adore.Expert Tip: The Ranger Raptor mid-size truck gets much of this SUV’s gear (including the punchy twin-turbo V-6) but costs $20,000 less and has a pickup bed. What’s New for 2026?The Bronco Raptor carries over into 2026 with no changes.Pricing and Which One to BuyWhile shoppers can outfit the four-door-only Bronco Raptor with leather-trimmed seats, beadlock-capable wheels, exterior graphics, and several accessories, we’d leave it in its well-equipped base form and perhaps pay extra for a paint color other than black or white.Engine, Transmission, and Performance
- Engine: 418-hp twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6
- Transmission: 10-speed automatic
- Drivetrain: four-wheel drive
Ford didn’t put a V-8 in the Bronco Raptor, but it did manage to coax 418 horsepower from the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 under the hood. The engine pairs exclusively with a 10-speed automatic transmission and an advanced four-wheel-drive system that works in concert with selectable G.O.A.T. (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain) modes. The Bronco Raptor has a beefier suspension setup than the standard SUV to better handle powering over sand dunes or jumping through the air, and it has a much wider track for high-speed stability. It gets the Fox adaptive dampers from the F-150 Raptor, too, not to mention standard 37-inch BFGoodrich K02 all-terrain tires. During our initial test drive, we were impressed with the Bronco Raptor’s off-road prowess, both when bounding over bumpy terrain at speed and while crawling through rocky passes with the low-range gearing engaged.0–60-MPH Times
- C/D 60-mph Test: 5.6 seconds
In Comparison: While the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V-6 doesn’t have the same shove as the F-150 Raptor’s boosted 3.5-liter, it has enough punch to get the Bronco Raptor to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. The F-150 hits the mark in 5.2 seconds. Additional ResearchTowing and Payload Capacity
- Max Towing: 4500 pounds
In Comparison: The Raptor is more capable than the regular Bronco—which has a maximum tow rating of 3500 pounds—but it’s still no match for Jeep’s and Toyota’s 4x4s. A V-8 Wrangler can tug a 5000-pound trailer behind its bumper, while the 4Runner is good for 6000 pounds.Fuel Economy and Real-World MPG
- C/D 75-mph Highway Fuel-Economy Test: 17 mpg
- EPA City Rating: 15 mpg
- EPA Highway Rating: 16 mpg
The EPA hasn’t released fuel-economy information for the 2026 Ford Bronco Raptor yet, but the ratings shouldn’t change. The 2025 model earns estimates of 15 mpg city and 16 mpg highway. On our 75-mph highway fuel-economy route, the Bronco Raptor surprised us by returning 17 mpg—1 mpg more than expected. For more information about the Bronco Raptor’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website. In Comparison: Compared to the 470-hp 6.4-liter V-8 Jeep Wrangler 392, the Bronco Raptor has a marginal 2-mpg advantage in city driving but the same gas mileage on the freeway.Interior, Comfort, and CargoFirst Row: The extra-capable Raptor shares its interior design and dimensions with the regular Bronco and comes standard with rubberized flooring, marine-grade vinyl upholstery, and an overhead set of auxiliary toggle switches. Those who want a more luxurious cabin can opt for leather-trimmed seats. Second Row: Two adults should be perfectly happy sitting in the back of the Bronco Raptor. Three would be a squeeze, though.Cargo Capacity: The cargo hold is pretty sizable. It can fit all of the SUV’s removable doors behind the back seats. Infotainment and Connectivity
- Infotainment: 12.0-inch touchscreen
- Connectivity: Bluetooth, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility
- Audio System: 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo
The Bronco Raptor has a 12.0-inch vertically oriented touchscreen, running Ford’s latest Sync 4 software. The infotainment system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functions, too. There’s a rack built into the top of its dashboard for mounting smartphones and GoPros, which can be plugged into nearby 12-volt outlets.Safety and Driver-Assistance FeaturesThe Bronco Raptor comes standard with lots of driver-assistance technology, from blind-spot monitoring to lane-keeping assist to adaptive cruise control.
- Standard Safety Features: adaptive cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera system
For information about the Bronco Raptor’s crash-test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites.Warranty and Maintenance CoverageFord offers competitive limited and powertrain warranties. However, the company doesn’t provide complimentary scheduled maintenance, whereas Jeep does.
- Limited Warranty: three years or 36,000 miles
- Powertrain Warranty: five years or 60,000 miles
- Complimentary Maintenance: none
