Overview Few cars combine couture styling, supercar performance, and aristocratic luxury better than the 2026 Bentley Continental GT coupe and Continental GTC convertible. A plug-in hybrid powertrain featuring a twin-turbo V-8 pumps out megawatt colossal horsepower ratings capable of launching this extravagant rocket to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds. The Bentley’s suspension is tuned to play, but this two-door knows how to relax too and it’s a dream come true on long road trips. Its front seats are comfortable and supportive for a day-long drive and the aromas of wood and leather combine in a rich-smelling bouquet. Of course, excellence comes at a price and the Continental GT starts deep in the six-figure range and only gets more expensive as you pile on options and customizations. What’s New for 2026?This year, a base model—if you can call it that—and a mid-range Azure trim make their debuts, both powered by a 671-hp version of the Continental GT’s plug-in hybrid powertrain. While the entry-level coupe and convertible models wear a front fascia and grille that are very similar to the Speed model, the Azure has more chrome accents and a waterfall grille with 11 chrome strips. The Azure also wears unique 22-inch wheels, open poor wood interior trim, and special illuminated door sill protector plates. Like all Bentley models, these new additions are highly customizable and effortlessly luxurious.Pricing and Which One to BuyThe price of the 2026 Bentley Continental GT is expected to start around $250,000 and go up to $370,000 depending on the trim and options.GT$250,000 (est)GTC Convertible$270,000 (est)GT Azure$280,000 (est)GTC Azure Convertible$300,000 (est)GT Speed$310,000 (est)GTC Speed Convertible$340,000 (est)GT Mulliner$340,000 (est)GTC Mulliner Convertible$370,000 (est)We’d go with the GT Speed, as it unlocks the plug-in hybrid powertrain’s maximum output. It’s likely to be a costly upgrade, but the GT Speed to 60 mph in just 2.8 seconds at our test track. We’ll leave the rest of the customization to you, but for the love of cars please keep things tasteful.Engine, Transmission, and Performance The Continental GT coupe and GTC convertible are powered by a 671-horsepower plug-in-hybrid powertrain that consists of a twin-turbocharged V-8 engine and an electric motor. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all-wheel drive are both standard. Step up to a Speed or Mulliner model and you’ll get a whopping 771 horsepower from the same powertrain, making it the most powerful road-going Continental GT to date. When we drove the Continental GT Speed, we found the hybrid powertrain to be astonishingly powerful and quite refined as well. The Continental GT’s prodigious weight hurts its handling and braking performance, but it’s sublimely comfortable and quiet.0–60-MPH TimesWhen we tested a Continental GT Speed coupe, it got to 60 mph in a swift 2.8 seconds.BentleyMore on the Continental GT Coupe and ConvertibleRange, Charging, and Battery Life Bentley says the plug-in-hybrid powertrain uses a 21.8-kWh battery pack that should provide around 40 miles of electric range based on our estimates. When the EPA releases its estimates, we’ll update this story with that information.Fuel Economy and Real-World MPGFuel economy estimates from the EPA haven’t been released yet, but don’t expect the Continental’s hybridized powertrain to turn this grand tourer into a fuel-sipper. When we get a chance, we’ll take the Continental GT on our 75-mph highway fuel economy route and update this story with real-world test results. For more information about the Continental GT’s fuel economy, visit the EPA’s website.Interior, Comfort, and CargoIt isn’t a Bentley unless the interior is draped in high-end leather and wood, and that’s exactly what you’ll find inside the Continental GT. Heavily-cushioned chairs with quilted leather upholstery are all-day comfortable, feature 20-way power adjustability, and can be equipped with both a massage feature and an automatic climate control system that activates the heat or ventilation function if it detects you’re too cold or too warm. The rear seats aren’t spacious but should be able to fit two adults for short trips. The GTC convertible model features a cloth top that’s power-operable and can deploy in as little as 19 seconds should it start to drizzle; the top is available in seven colors. Speaking of which, buyers can spec their Continental GT any way they want through the company’s Mulliner bespoke-build customization service when the standard list of options isn’t quite hitting expectations.BentleyThe Car and Driver DifferenceInfotainment and ConnectivityA 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard on every Continental GT, but you may not see it if you peek in the window. That’s because Bentley has engineered a rotating panel that can flip around to either hide the screen behind a matching piece of wood veneer or replace it with a bank of three old-school analog gauges. The software interface is Bentley’s latest and greatest and features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10-speaker stereo is standard but two different premium audio setups are available: A 16-speaker setup tuned by Bang & Olufsen and an 18-speaker Naim system which features bass transducers mounted into the front seats. How to Buy and Maintain a CarSafety and Driver-Assistance FeaturesIn addition to the expected standard driver-assistance features, the Continental GT is available with a remote parking feature that allows the driver to park or summon the two-door from their smartphone. For more information about the Continental GT’s crash test results, visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) websites. Key safety features include:
- Standard automated emergency braking with pedestrian detection
- Standard lane-departure warning with lane-keeping assist
- Standard adaptive cruise control
Warranty and Maintenance CoverageRather than put mileage limits on the Continental GT’s standard warranty policies, Bentley covers everything for three years regardless of how far the car is driven. The company also provides the first maintenance visit with their compliments at one year or 10,000 miles.
- Limited warranty covers three years or unlimited miles
- Powertrain warranty covers three years or unlimited miles
